Doug: A FiberGuy on the FiberBeat

I am so excited to share two very cool things that have happened to me this past weekend. First, a month or two ago, I heard about a very cool project by the amazing Kyle Kunnecke featuring male fiber artists in the United States called FiberGuys. I decided to apply to participate and am so excited to have been selected as the representative for Texas. The interview was just published late last weekend and I’m so proud of it. There are lots of photos and some fun stories I’ve not shared before! Hope you enjoy it and while you’re there take a look at the other FiberGuys that have been published as well!
In addition to the FiberGuys interview going live, an interview I did last September at the Men’s Fall Knitting Retreat for the fun and educational podcast FiberBeat was published this weekend as well! The creator of this amazing podcast is a friend of mine known as WonderMike and this is definitely not your typical fiber podcast! Episode #27 which features Jon McCoy, the manufacturer of the very cool Pocket Wheel, along with yours truly! Take a listen and we’re even giving away 4 skeins of our Northern Silk Sock in a custom colorway of your choice as part of the podcast! So be sure to listen through to the end for details. You can download the podcast here on the FiberBeat website or from iTunes.
I am so grateful for these amazing opportunities and especially grateful for all of you that visit our website, our workshops, and create beautiful objects with our yarn. Hope you’ll enjoy getting to know me a little better through these two unique opportunities.

I’m finally catching up on podcast-listening and I was so glad to hear your interview with Mike on the Fiber Beat. I love how you think about color and fiber–and your yarn looks gorgeous! I’m already thinking about a project to knit with Peace Within. Thank you for bringing more beauty and color to Texas. (I’m in Houston.)
