Today is a very exciting day for us at White Bear Fibers!

Earlier today, we took the first 27 skeins of White Bear Fibers yarn to one of our all time favorite stores, The Tinsmith’s Wife in Comfort, TX. This warm and welcoming store is like what I imagine a store would be like in Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley. This store is floor to very high ceiling with beautiful yarn and hosted by the most amazing yarn wizards, Wendy Solberg and her parents, Susan and Bill. The store even comes with its own magical cats, Noro and Laurel.

White Bear Fibers is starting to grow and look for local yarn stores that are a perfect fit for our yarn. We will be focusing on 1 store per region for the time being. Gauge Knits will continue to be our home store here in Austin and now The Tinsmith’s Wife will be our San Antonio/Hill Country store.

Due to Comfort’s proximity to Austin, we are also hoping to schedule some Dye Your Own Workshops at The Tinsmith’s Wife in the future. So stay tuned!

And yes, we are already beginning the conversations with our 3rd possible store and hope to have news about it before the summer is over! Hint: Big D or Bayou City!

If you know of a LYS that you think would like to carry WBF yarns, please let us know! We’re working on getting sample packs together and will be doing more this fall to expand even further. Additionally, we’ll be adding an e-commerce site with exclusive inventory later this Fall for those of you not near one of our stores.
