Perfect Patterns for Our Sock Yarn

Recently I was looking for a pattern to use for a sample project to leave at Gauge in Austin. I wanted something that would really show off the drape and silkiness of the Southern and Northern Silk Sock yarns. I found a pattern called “Fracture” by an amazing UK-based designer named Paulina Popiolek, or PaulinaP on Ravelry. I absolutely fell in love with this pattern and as I started looking at her other patterns I knew I had found someone special.
Just this month, she’s released two new patterns that I also love: Chain Reaction and Illusion. We’re already working on a Chain Reaction in Peace Within and Golden Buddha as a sample for The Tinsmith’s Wife. I can’t wait to see how those colors work in that pattern! So very exciting!
So if you’re looking for some lightweight shawl patterns that can work perfectly with a lightweight silky sock yarn like our Southern or Northern Silk Sock, check out my new friend PaulinaP and let her know White Bear Fibers sent you!

The yarn looks beautiful! I’d love to see more of what “it” is that’s pictured in the first snapshot. Is it a basket? It’s intriguing.
How about some crochet options?
Doug says
Kathleen, thanks for the comment! This is actually a shawl. We don’t have any crochet patterns yet, but anything that works with a Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light or Malabrigo Silky Merino should work well with these yarns. I’ll definitely be on the look out for some great crochet patterns!
