So much to talk about!!

Well, it’s been a long time since my last post, and there is a LOT to update y’all on. First of all, we’ve decided to take White Bear Fibers in a slightly different direction in 2012. Our focus is going to be more on creating a “hand dyed yarn art studio.” I would love for White Bear to be hugely successful, but not at the expense of it being a creative outlet for me. So as a result, we will be moving more towards custom colorways on yarns we love in small batches and away from bulk production of standard colorways.
For now, we will still have some standard colorways on our website for those of you that are not near one of our stores. AND we will also be adding a “Custom Color” option sometime in April. You pick the fiber as well as the color or inspiration for your yarns. I will then hand dye the yarn just for you. Honestly, the most fun I’ve had during the past year is when someone tells me what inspires them or how they want a yarn to look and then I create it. I’m going to have to figure a few things out about how we handle the process and pricing for this, but I can’t wait to start offering this. So stay tuned!!
We are still doing our Dye Your Own Workshops and have some already scheduled for Knitting in the Loop in Houston and Gauge Knits in Austin in the next few weeks. There will be more and we hope to be back in Comfort at The Tinsmith’s Wife very soon! We hope to see some of you in these workshops very soon!
So for now, I just wanted to drop you a note and update you on some of the changes that have been happening and will continue to evolve. And I want you to know how incredibly grateful I am for all of your support during the past 15 months. I can’t imagine my life without White Bear Fibers and our amazing fans. I am so very grateful to each of you for your support.
Peace and fiber, y’all!
Doug
