Some News About White Bear Fibers

Lola and I looking out over Garner State Park in Texas

Hi Everyone, I have some news. I’ve decided to step back a bit from the dye pots for a little while and possibly longer. When I started my journey with fiber and dyeing, I did so as a means of creative expression and even as a meditation on color. It has helped me spiritually, emotionally, and mentally in so many ways.

However, recently, with a few exceptions (my VeryPink Adventure!!) it’s been more of a challenge than a joy and more of a burden than an act of creative expression. So I want to do some reflection and make some decisions about what’s next. I love teaching workshops, so that will likely continue in some form or fashion. I also want to reconnect with my passion for dyeing yarn in a creative way.

So for now, I’m going to be closing the online store for White Bear Fibers. I am still open to doing custom color orders as I LOVE doing these, and my focus is going to be on making sure I am doing this because it gives me joy! The last thing I want to do is dye yarn and have my negative energy going into it. So I hope you’ll be patient with me as I seek to figure all of this out. This is definitely not the end, and I’m want to figure out what’s next.

I am so incredibly grateful to each of you for all your support! Thank you and much love to each of you!!

Peace and fiber, y’all,
Doug
