Your Words

Something so unique

There is something so unique about White Bear Fibers.  Beyond the wonderful colors, the irresistible textures; perhaps it is the intention behind and the energy infused in these yarns.  They have taken my knitting experience to the next level.

Colors are Complex and Gorgeous

Wow – we just had a great visit with Doug & Tyler, and the yarns are AMAZING – and we feel extremely blessed to be able to have the yarns available in our shop! Perhaps Doug is right about a big of Harry Potter in the air – out of the 10 skeins of Southern Sock, we have only one skein left… Obviously, we are anxiously awaiting more to come from their dye pots.

If you haven’t yet seen/felt the White Bear Fibers – you are in for a treat! The colors are complex and gorgeous… Still not sure which is my favorite – the stories behind each color are what draw you in. Congratulations, Doug & Tyler, you have truly created a magical experience with your yarns – and thank you for the opportunity to share your talents at The Tinsmith’s Wife!

The art of dyeing

I always enter a yarn store with certain colors in mind.  Over the years I learned to compromise.  Doug’s workshops have made it possible for me to let go of compromise and leave with what I want colorwise.  Now I look forward to learning more about the art of dyeing.

Had SO much fun!

Had SO much fun, Doug and Kim! The crazy yarn I dyed is all puffy and gorgeous now that it’s dry. I can’t wait to dye more. Thank you for everything!

One cannot leave this class unhappy

Dear Doug,  I SO enjoyed your class.  It was like zen for those of us that cannot sit still long enough for meditation…One cannot leave this class unhappy.  Thank you.

Opened another door for my fiber-addiction

This was my first-ever dying experience, and I am absolutely doing it again! Doug was so knowledgeable and helpful, answering all of our novice questions, and giving lots of one-on-one attention. Kim was such a work-horse! I can’t believe that one person can do as much as she did today! I absolutely will recruit new dyers, and spread the word. My time today with Doug has only opened yet another door for my fiber-addiction.

If you have not done this, you MUST sign up for the next class!

a wonderfully stress-free birthday

First, if you haven’t tried dying your own yarn, you should give it a shot. It really is a blast.

Second, if you want to take a class, you couldn’t find a better person to teach it than Doug. He helped us pick out our colors, explained the process, pointed out all the pitfalls (man, that dye is very easy to transfer the wrong place!) and he and Kim did all the grunt work.  I can’t wait to see what all the cool yarns created turn into.

Thank you Doug for making a wonderfully stress-free birthday and yarn to remember it by!
